Constitution Week Essay Contest

Fall 2005 - Dr. Duane Dunlap (left) congratulates Emmanuel Crump (right), an Engineering Technology major and the 2005 Constitution Week Essay Contest first place winner. Emmanuel received a $150 prize and publication in the Western Carolinian. Emmanuel’s clever essay argues that “Life in America without the First Amendment is living without a voice, and without a voice, a person is socially dead.” The contest is sponsored by Student Government Association, Honors College, History Club, Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society, Phi Alpha Theta, Office of the Provost, and WCU Public Policy Institute.
