Community Table Food Drive

Help Kids Eat! The Staff Senate is sponsoring a food drive to help the Community Table’s Backpack for Kids program. This program provides easy-to-prepare food/meals for kids to bring home on weekends during the school year. You can help out by bringing non-perishable items (canned ravioli, spaghetti, soups - dry and canned, crackers, ramen noodles, macaroni & cheese, etc.) to Employee Appreciation Day. There has been a significant increase in the number of children who need food as compared to 2008!

We began collecting food Wednesday, October 14th at Employee Appreciation Day in the Ramsey Center and will continue through early November. Collection boxes have been placed throughout campus in the following locations:
HFR - break room
Camp building - lobbies
Killian Annex - lobbies

Or you may drop off donations to Brenda Holcombe (126 Killian Annex), Donna Welch (1st floor, east wing, Scott), Laura Simons (IT, 180 Belk) or Eric Margiotta (UC Office).

Staff Senate

Western Carolina University’s Staff Senate is an elected body that represents WCU’s permanent, non-faculty employees, and seeks to improve the quality of life at the university. The senate meets monthly to discuss staff members’ ideas and concerns, and serves in an advisory capacity to the Chancellor and other university decision-making bodies. Senators are committed to promoting the training and support needed to allow staff members to excel, recognition of staff contributions, and respect for the worth of all individuals at Western Carolina University.
